We will work closely with your family to plan every aspect of the celebration for your loved one. This includes a one to two hour meeting in person or virtually. Together, we’ll plan for the type of ritual you’d like to have, select readings from Scripture or other sources, and consider music and other details. Following that meeting, I will plan a service and eulogy tailored to your family and your loved one’s legacy.

About Dr. Eric Fought
Eric Fought brings significant experience from varied roles to his work as a Funeral Celebrant. He holds a doctorate in preaching from Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, and a Master of Divinity degree from Saint John’s School of Theology and Seminary in Collegeville, MN. While in training, he served as a pastoral intern at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, a historic ELCA congregation in Saint Paul.
Dr. Fought currently serves as a Donation Liaison with LifeSource, the Upper Midwest’s organ procurement organization, working with grieving families at the time of the loss of a loved one, supporting them through the donation process.
He served as Director of Care, Support, and Justice Ministries at a large congregation in the Highland Park neighborhood of Saint Paul, where he coordinated and led many funerals in the church and at local funeral homes. He also assisted families with burial services at local cemeteries, including Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Raised and formed in the Roman Catholic tradition, Dr. Fought is able to offer prayers and preside at rituals in that tradition. However, he also is eager to customize services for families that come from other traditions and those that seek a less religious and more secular service. While not an ordained minister in any Christian denomination, he is comfortable and has been trained to offer services regardless of your loved one’s (or your) connection to a congregation.
Prior to completing ministry formation and academic theological training, Dr. Fought had a successful 25-year career in professional communications, with high-profile leadership roles in government, political campaigns, and nonprofit organizations.
